We understand the importance to parents of making decisions around their children’s education and also how sensitive an area this can be for some families. As a local authority we are keen to develop services that support these children, young people and their families. There is too a clear need that such services are informed by and mutually beneficial to all partners.

For some time now we have been looking closely at how we support EHE and are delighted to be able to join a range of local authorities in entering into a shared service for Elective Home Education with Warrington.

The benefits of this are very obvious to us – this is an established service with a good provenance from service-users and partners and positive feed-back from external scrutiny.

The EHE community is clearly well organised at many levels and often these systems overlap traditional local authority boundaries.  Bringing services together in this way provides us an opportunity to participate in the development of consistent and coherent support across the region.

We are excited at the opportunities this affords us and looking forward to working in partnership with parents, pupils and colleagues.”

Why do we ask for your child's age?
